for 1898, with tapering blued 6in. barrel, the top signed 'COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.', blued crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, blued fluted cylinder, colour hardened solid frame with side loading gate, blued grip-straps and trigger-guard, finely chequered hard-rubber birdshead grips embossed with the Colt trademark, side-mounted ejector-rod, the whole retaining much factory finish
